Madina Karbeli – soprano

Georgian soprano Madina Karbeli (Serebryakova) graduated from Tbilisi State Conservatory and Vienna University of Music and Performing Arts (2011). Her operatic debut she made already in Georgia, where after her Opera Studio appearances as Rosina/ Il Barbiere di Siviglia and Norina/ Don Pasquale she was accepted in Tbilisi State Opera as young soloist. During her studies in Vienna she made her debut as Clorinda/ La Cenerentola, Vespetta/ Pimpinone and as title role in Die Kluge.
Her appearances as Pamina/ Die Zauberfloete and Gretel/ Haensel und Gretel during the tour of Vienna Children’s Opera all over Germany and Austria drew a lot of attention to the exclusive acting and interpretation skills of Madina Karbeli for a special audience of young people and children.
As a winner of Franz Stanner Competition in Vienna Madina Karbeli has been many times invited as soloist to the concerts of the Vienna Schubertbund and the Young Philharmony Vienna.
In 2011 she made her debut at the Gars am Kamp festival as Frasquita/ Carmen, followed by the role of Gilda in Rigoletto.

In the years of 2012-2013 she became soloist for Young Philharmonic Orchestra of Vienna and performed numerous concerts under the baton of Michael Lessky.

In 2013 she was awarded Premio Equivoci Musicali at the International Competition of Cita di Sonora headed by Paolo Gavazzeni. As a prize she performed Christmas Concert – Mozart in Milan in Palazzo Reale in Milan.
Alongside with operatic career Madina Serebryakova has received the prize of the president of Georgia for her achievements in popular and ethno-music. Her album Sameba was twice released in Georgia and Russia and has been in leading charts of many radio-stations.

In 2014 Madina Karbeli made her Italian operatic debut in the Teatro Verdi di Pisa with the role of Antonia in Offenbach’s Les Contes D’Hoffmann, which was followed by debuts in Teatro Goldoni Livorno, Teatro del Giglio in Lucca and Teatro Coccia in Novara. Her next debut – as Donna Anna in Mozart’s Don Giovanni took her to Pinerolo/Torino. 

2015 is a year of success for Madina Karbeli. It started with her debut as Musetta in San Remo in January (later in April in Grosseto, Teatro Moderno), and continued with the beautiful production of L’Elisir D’Amore in Malta (Teatru Manoel). In May, 2015 Madina has won the first prize at the International Competition Marcella Pobbe.

In summer 2015 Madina has debuted at the innauguration of the Arena di Verona festival as Anna in the historic production of Nabucco. Also covering the role of Donna Anna in Don Giovanni.
